While in most cases you can copy the URL address for an article and save it for later, this will not work for all databases. Some databases (particularly databases from EBSCOhost) do not display permanent links in the URL bar of your browser. The URL that is displayed is a temporary, session-based link that will expire. Fortunately, databases usually have a way to obtain a permanent link to an item.
For example, if you're viewing an item record in an EBSCOhost database, you should see a sidebar on the right side titled "Tools". At the bottom should be a button that says "Permalink". Clicking this provides you with a permanent link that you can use to access the article later.
When in doubt, remember to always make a record of where you found an article, its title, its author, and any other identifiable information. This will ensure that, even in the case of a link no longer working, you can find an article again.
If you do have trouble finding a permanent link to an article in a particular database, please let a librarian know and they can assist you.
